You know those days when you just need a flatmate, and you’re not necessarily looking for your future bride? Cam was having one of those days when Alysia walked through the door. She fit the bill of flatmate perfectly, and that’s all they were for quite a long time. As their friendship grew it became apparent to others that they were perfect for each other, even though Cam and Alysia either hadn’t cottoned on to the fact yet, or they just weren’t ready to admit it. Judging by their wedding on Saturday, It sure looks to me like they’ve worked it out now!
Alysia and the girls got ready at her parent’s home, the very place she spent her childhood. There’s something so special about getting ready where you grew up. It’s the little things that make it special like the photos on display or the markings on the wall to show just how tall you once were, the memory of the big tree in the backyard and the nights you spent wondering what your wedding day would be like. And then suddenly, here you are, on your wedding day, in your childhood bedroom. And everything is perfect.
Cam and Alysia are obviously incredible gift givers. Amazing, generous hearts that share their love with those around them using beautiful words and thoughtful gifts.
This is Alysia’s parents cat. Thoroughly pampered and loved by Fred and Viv….
And ever so slightly resented by Alysia! It’s all in good humour though, I’m pretty sure she secretly likes the cat, who may (or more likely) may not be the favourite child.
Alysia obviously doesn’t hold any grudges for the love shown to the cat, and still showered her parents with beautiful gifts.
In case you’re wondering about these super cool shoes, they were Alysia’s own design from Shoes of Prey. Every time I’ve seen shoes from them, I’ve fallen in love.
Nana’s hanky. Precious.
Alysia, you looked absolutely stunning! That necklace is next level awesome!
Meanwhile, Paul is over with the boys and it turns out they’re having a pretty amazing time!
Of course, there’s more gifts. Personalised, beautiful gifts.
Alysia is so thoughtful, she even remembered and honoured those who weren’t with them anymore.
Sometimes a good friend will cool your head down when you need it.
Cam and the boys were having a grand old time, that was BEFORE they knew about the surprise about to happen.
The car came to pick the boys up, just as they expected. Instead of taking them to Spy Valley Wines, the ceremony location, it took them to a helicopter hanger.
Alysia must know Cam really, REALLY well, because it doesn’t look like she could possibly have thought of a more incredible gift!
It was imperative that they do the presidential salute before take off. It seemed only fitting. And then off they flew for an adventure before landing with the guests in time for the ceremony.
Back with the girls now, and as if I wasn’t already in love with this family enough, they even have a WHITE PICKET FENCE!
Check out these amazing flowers, created by Cam’s mum Susan! Keep a look out for more of her incredible work though the wedding.
The weather had been threatening rain, but as the afternoon approached it became clear that we could have the ceremony outside at Spy Valley after all.
How’s this for an amazing view to get married in!
Cam only had eyes for Alysia though, that was without a doubt the most beautiful part of the day for him.
And just like that, they were husband and wife!
And everyone rejoiced!
This bridal party was full of laughs and jokes and just a general good ol’ time. After doing a happy walk, someone asked if they could do a ‘doom and gloom’ walk. Why not!
So unbeknownst to everyone who was busy doing the ‘doom and gloom’ walk, the two on the far right were doing something very undoom and ungloomy.
These guys are pretty good at getting their jig on!
I asked them to strewn themselves around Olive, the combi. I think these guys have epic strewning skills.
After the play for the photos, everyone took a few minutes break to have a snack, and so Alysia snuck away and came out wearing THIS! Wearing a dress picked out by both mothers, she looked AMAZING!
And the good thing about this dress was that she could run, dance and even sit down in it!
Cue Alan Scott, and with the help of wedding planner Melissa from Inspire, everything was flawless.
Alysia thought of everything. And when I say EVERYTHING, I mean things you didn’t even know that could be thought of, were thought of. For example, engraved forks.
Check out this amazing cake by Heather Staples!
The speeches had wedding guests in both laughter and tears, and tears of laughter.
Oh my word, this floral frame was just TOO amazing for words!
Then, just as the rain finally started to fall, we snuck these guys outside. With no amazing sunset to feature, I feel like the rain was just a bit awesome regardless!
Alysia and Cam, thank you for your amazing wedding. Thanks for all of the thought that went into every single amazing little detail, thanks for the smiles and the way that you both love each other.
