“I’m having so much fun, I want to do this again tomorrow!” Brooke told me as she was sitting down for her reception at the end of her wedding day. It was a great day indeed, the kind of wedding where everything went right, everyone was beautiful and happy and two people who love each other dearly ended up as husband and wife.
So much beautifulness Brooke!
I often find that a wedding day is almost as special to the parents of the bride and groom as it is for the couple themselves. I LOVE enthusiastic parents, and this was one wedding that was full of them! Brooke is so thoughtful, she had gifts for everyone, and clearly this one for her Dad hits the spot!
Meanwhile, in the boys camp there are more gifts!
This smile was a permanent fixture for Kevin.
Mr Dashing!
The wedding was held at Hortensia House, gorgeous from every angle that you choose to look at it!
Kate, our assistant, got this shot from across the river. Sometimes having a third person to take a few sneaky shots is a very handy thing indeed!
So much happiness!
We bonded with Brooke and Kevin earlier this year at their E-session – here. So when it came time to do the portraits they were already relaxed and ready to rock it!
We had no trouble at all getting this girl to look gorgeous!
I wish my garden looked this good! The sad truth is that I’m not sure what is a weed and what plant has a genuine right to be there, so I sort of let them live together in not-quite-so-beautiful unity. I’m all for treating all plants with equal respect. Or something like that.
Such a fun bridal party!
Sometimes an image doesn’t need heads. Obviously not every image comes under that category, but this one certainly does!
After a play at Hortensia, we headed off to The Riverbank Cottage for some more pretty pictures.
Ooooooo look! It’s a cute horse! Turns out the cute horse very much wanted to eat the beautiful flowers. I’m not sure how Nina from Pink Poppie would have felt about that!
And once again I am on the ground in the foetal position. This is one way to get genuine smiles!
Brooke and Kevin were keen to try a little bit of tennis before we headed to the reception.
It seems that playing tennis in your wedding dress is rather awkward and cumbersome, but funny!
And then onto a reception full of beautiful cake, and a lot of laughs!
The food at Drylands is absolutely divine. I know this from experience! Those roasted veggies right there? Well OH MY GOSH they are good! And the gelato is an absolute must.
The sun was setting and Brooke and Kevin were keen for a few more minutes of photos. I think it was well worth braving the chilly evening air!
And then the dancing began…
Zeal had young and old up on the dance floor!
Paul wanted to try something a little bit different with the rings. Ice. I’m sorry Brooke and Kevin if they were a little bit cold when you got them back! The rings are gorgeous and unique because Kevin actually designed them himself! How’s that for brownie points?
Brooke and Kevin – THANK YOU! Thank you for inviting us into your special day. Thank you for your enthusiasm, and your love for each other which made you OH so easy to photograph! We can’t wait to show you all of the rest!
